#85 From purpose to advocacy: working out who to listen to with Abimbola Johnson

Abimbola is an award winning barrister who specialises in criminal defence, inquiries, inquests and professional regulatory work. She is also the chair of an independent board that scrutinises all 43 police forces across England and Wales on their commitment to develop an anti-racism action plan.

Abi is my old school friend, and in this episode we reflect on our journeys to purpose, and Abi’s journey to becoming an advocate, a Quaker and a mother. We talk about why motherhood is freeing, radical solutions required for police anti-racism, who to surround yourself with and why no one can transform themselves alone.
